How To Advance:
Joining the guild as a Construction Worker: Please read How to Join Homes and Tomes.
Advancing from Construction Worker to Subcontractor: To advance from a Construction Worker to a Subcontractor, a member must have accumulated at least 5 guild points and have spent a minimum of two active weeks in guild. Upon promotion, the member will receive a book commemorating the promotion and stating that they are LTD (Licensed To Decorate). They will also receive a piece of rare crafted furniture.
Advancing from Subcontractor to Contractor: To advance from a Subcontractor to a Contractor, a member must have accumulated at least 75 guild points and have spent a minimum of six active months in guild. Upon promotion, the member will receive a book commemorating the promotion and stating that they are a CID (Certified Interior Designer). They will also receive their choice of one (1) of the following: a character portrait done by Blazewolf OR a home decorated by the officer of their choice. Contractors have no more authority than Subcontractors. However, they receive additional perks, such as the choice to become a guild recruiter, the ability to mail all members of the guild, trustee on the guild hall, and the ability to take more items out of the guild bank.
Advancing from Contractor to Vice President: Advancement from Contractor to Vice President is not guaranteed. Vice Presidents are promoted based on the need of the guild as a whole. Individuals chosen for promotion to Vice President will be chosen based on their current and future contributions to the guild. The individuals chosen may not have been Contractors for the longest amount of time, nor may they be the individuals with the most points in that rank. Rather, they will be the individuals that the current Vice Presidents and President feel are best suited for whatever job the guild needs filled.
Advancing from Vice President to President: Ain't gonna happen, guys. Sorry.
All About Guild Participation Points:
Points are awarded for a variety of reasons.
Examples:
| Points | Reason |
| 0.1 | 1,000 status earned (the blue status number in the guild window). If you are at 999 status, you will not be awarded a point until you hit 1,000 status. 10,000 status earned = 1 full point |
| 0.1 | 100,000 status donated to the hall. 1,000,000 status donated = 1 full point |
| 0.1 | 10 platinum donated to the guild hall. 100 platinum = 1 full point |
| 0.1 | 10 platinum donated to the guild bank. 100 platinum = 1 full point |
| 0.1 | Completing a survey to add time to the guild webpage. Surveys can be completed once per day. |
| 1 | Helping out at a guild event |
| 2 | Organizing a guild event |
| 5 | Paying for a month of time on the guild webpage |
| ?? | Donating items to the guild bank. Point totals vary depending on number and rarity of items donated. |
| ?? | Donating items to the common guild pool. Point totals vary depending on the number and rarity of items donated. |
| ?? | Officer discretion (for being especially friendly or helpful, for donating goods to other members' projects, for offering advice or mentoring to others, for visiting each others' homes, etc.) |
Certain events will award higher than usual point amounts. Such events will be announced via in-game mail and on these forums.
Points are awarded only to main characters. Alternate characters' points will be added to the main's point total. This allows us to more easily track each individual's total contribution. This is for the officers' convenience. No one but the officers will know who an alternate character belongs to, unless the player wishes to make it known. No one but the officers will know why a character has earned the points that they have. Anonymous acts of kindness may still remain anonymous!
It is your responsibility to ensure that if you donate status or guild to the guild hall, you alert one of the officers to let them know if you would like the points awarded to you for those donations. It is too difficult for us to track how much you donate each time. We do our best, but since only the last contribution is recorded, if you donate twice in a short span of time, your previous contribution is overwritten by your most recent one. Please make sure you let us know when and what you contribute, so that your point total can accurately reflect that. If you do not let us know, you are forfeiting the points. That is also your right if you choose to donate "anonymously."
This is not a popularity contest. Points are meant as a method for officers to track who is contributing to the guild. Even chatting in guild and being funny and helpful can earn you points! All play styles are supported with the point contributions. You will not hurt your chances for advancement in the guild if you choose not to accept points for various things.
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please post in the Suggestions forum.
Thank you.
